ブログネタがあまりないので、以前まとめたコネタを少しずつ掲載していこうかと思います。まずは、各都道府県にある観光連盟がまとめた観光地の英語パンフレットから抜粋した情報を北海道から。

札幌羊が丘公園
羊が丘は札幌を見渡せる丘の上にあります。そこは北海道らしい壮大な景色とクラーク博士の銅像が印象的です。

Hitsujigaoka, located on a hilly terrain overlooking Sapporo, impresses visitors with magnificent scenery typical of Hokkaido and the bronze statue of Dr. Clark.

時計台（札幌）
この建物は1878年に札幌農学校の演舞場として建てられました。　さっぽろのシンボルであるこの時計台は日本の重要文化財に指定されています。
Clock Tower (Sapporo)
This building with a clock tower was built in 1878 as the drill hall of Sapporo Agricultural College. This symbol of Sapporo has been designated as one of Japan’s important cultural assets.

すすきの（札幌）
すすきのは東京以北最大の娯楽地域です。この地域は夜にはネオンで明るくなります。約4,5000のレストランや娯楽施設が営業しています。
Susukino (Sapporo)
Susukino is the largest entertainment district north of Tokyo. The area is illuminated with neon lights as dusk falls. About four to five thousand restaurants and entertainment facilities are operated in this area.

北海道庁旧本庁舎
このレンガの建物は、札幌開拓時代の1888年に建てられたネオ・バロック洋式の建造物です。観光客は併設の文書館や歴史資料館を自由に見学することができます。
Old Hokkaido Government Building
This historical brick, neo-baroque building was constructed in 1888 during Sapporo’s development days. Visitors are free to enter and see a document museum and a historical material museum.

大通り公園（札幌）
ここは街の中心を北から南まで100メートルも続く公園です。噴水、花畑、木立は市民にとって憩いの場所です。
Odori Park (Sapporo)
This park is an approximately 100-meter-wide green zone diving the city into north and south. Fountains, flower gardens and clumps of trees enhance comfort for citizens relaxing here.

羊蹄山
蝦夷富士とも呼ばれる羊蹄山はニセコリゾートにある美しい山です。登山道は高山植物の宝庫です。
Mt. Yotei
Mt. Yotei which is called Ezo Fuji, is a beautiful mountain that stands alone in the Niseko resort area. Climbing routes are available on this mountains, a treasure house of alpine plants.

大倉山ジャンプ競技場
札幌冬季オリンピックでラージヒル競技が行なわれたところです。毎年国際大会がここで開かれています。ウィンタースポーツミュージアムが隣接されています。
Okurayama Ski Jump Hill
This ski jump facility was the venue of large hill events in the Sapporo Winter Olympics, and international competitions have been held annually. There is a winter sports museum beside this facility.

ポロトコタン
白老には昔アイヌの人々の集落がありました。ここにはかつてのアイヌ民族の暮らしや文化を再現されています。
Poroto Kotan (Siraoi)
There were once Ainu communities in Shiraoi. The life and culture of the Ainu in those days are reproduced here in Poroto Kotan.

日高サラブレッド牧場
サラブレッド発祥の地、日高は多数の有名馬を育てています。新冠は大きな牧場が多数あり、”サラブレッド銀座”と呼ばれています。
Hidaka Thoroughbred Ranch
Hidaka, the birthplace of thoroughbreds, has nurtured many famous horses. Niikappu is called “Thoroughbred Ginza” because of the large number of ranches.

Snowmobile
Snowmobiling is a winter motor sports in which you can drive a snowmobile through snowfields at full speed. You can try it at Niseko Rusutsu and other winter resort areas.

夏には室蘭港からホエールウオッチングツアーが出ています。ミンク鯨やゴンドウ鯨、、イルカに出会うかもしれません。
Whale watching
Whale watching ours from Muroran Port on the Pacific Coast are available in summer. You can see the minke whale and the Gondo whale, and may encounter shoals of dolphins.

登別温泉
日本を代表する登別温泉は11種類の泉質の温泉があります。　多数のホテルや旅館が並んでいます。火山ガスが出ている地獄谷が有名です。
Nobboribetsu Hot Springs
Noboribetsu, one of Japan’s leading hot spring resorts, features in a rich output of 11 kings of hot spring water. The street is lined wit many hotel and Japanese-style inns. Jigokudani (Hell Valley), from which to water and volcanic gasses gush out, is a popular tourist destination.

小樽運河
小樽運河は北海道の経済の中心として栄えた商業都市小樽の象徴です。運河沿いのガス燈や倉庫街が印象的です。
Otaru Canal
Otaru Canal is the symbol of the commercial city Otaru that once prospered as Hokkaido’s economic hub. Gaslights and stone ware-houses along tee canal produce an impressive cityscape.

定山渓
札幌の奥座敷と言われている定山渓は観光客や札幌市民に人気のある温泉です。この地域にはホテルや旅館が多数あり、ウインタースポーツの拠点にもなっています。
Jozankei
Jozankei, referred to as Sapporo’s okuzashiki (inner room), is a popular hot spring resort among tourists and Sapporo citizens. This area has many hotels and inns, thus serving as the base of winter sports.

The Ainu are Hokkaido’s indigenous people. Their invaluable history and culture have been registered as Hokkaido Heritage.

函館五稜郭公園
五稜郭は日本初の星型をした洋式城郭です。そこは1886年に函館戦争の舞台となりました。現在は公園となり、美しい桜の名所としても知られています。
Hakodate Goryokaku Park
Goryokaku is Japan’s first western-style, star-shaped fort, where the Hakodate War was fought in 1886. It currently serves as a park and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms.

1896年に建てられた日本最初の修道院です。並木道の奥に赤レンガのゴシック建築の建物がヨーロッパ建築をしのばせます。
Kamiiso Trappist Monastery
This is Japan’s first monastery, established in 1896. The redbrick, Gothic building standing behind a tree-lined street is reminiscen of European architecture.

開陽丸
開陽丸は江戸時代に徳川幕府の発注を受けてオランダでつくられた木造の軍艦です。現在この船は復元されて知ろう館として港にあります。
Kaiyo-maru at Esashi
Kaiyo-maru was a wooden battleship built in the Netherlands in the Edo era that sank off Esashi during the closing days of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The ship has been reproduced and currently stands beautifully at the port.

大沼公園と駒ケ岳
駒ケ岳を湖面に映す大沼や小沼がある大沼公園は四季折々の美しい表情をみせてくれます。ここはまた温泉もあり、乗馬やその他色々なアウトドアスポーツも楽しめます。
Onuma parts and Mt. Komagadake
With Mt. Komagadake towering in the background over Lake Onuma and Lake Konuma, Onuma Park offers beautiful landscapes throughout the four seasons. This is also a hot spring resort, where horseback riding and other outdoor sports can also be enjoyed.

函館トラピスチヌ修道院
ここはフランスから派遣された修道女によって創設された日本最初の女子修道院です。そこでは今も多くの修道女敬虔に、規律正しく生活しています。
Hakodate Trapiistine Convent
This is Japan’s first convent founded by nuns dispatched from France. Many nuns still live pious, religious lives inside the building.

なべつる岩、奥尻島
日本海の荒波の浸食によって出来たこの奇岩は鍋のつるのような形をしているため、なべつる岩と呼ばれています。奥尻島のシンボルでもあります。
Nabetsuru Rock, Okushiri Island
This strange rock, which was chipped away by the rough waters of the Sea of Japan, was named Nabetsuru (port handle) due to its similarity to a pot handle. It serves as the symbol of Okushiri Island.

函館倉庫群
函館港を望むこのエリアは明治時代に建てられた赤レンガ造りの倉庫群が立ち並んでいます。現在は個性豊かなショップやレストランとして使われています。
Hakodate Waterfront
This area, which overlooks Hakodate Port, accommodates a cluster of redbrick warehouses construed in the closing years of the Meiji era. They are currently used as unique shops and restaurants.

恵山のつつじ
恵山は高さ618メートルの活火山です。登山道には60種類の様々な花が咲いています。ここはつつじの最も有名な場所のひとつです。
Azaleas in Esan
Esan is an active volcano 618m in height. On its slopes, 60-odd kinds of flowers are in bloom, and this place is one of the nation’s most famous sports for azaleas.

青函トンネルは北海道と本州を結ぶ53.9キロの長さです。トンネル工事に関係する資料は記念館に展示されています。

Seikan Tunnel is an approximately 53.9-km undersea tunnel connecting Hokkaido and a Honshu. Materials related to the tunnel construction are exhibited in the Memorial Museum.

道南の観光拠点として人気の温泉です。350年もの歴史があり、津軽海峡を一望できるこの温泉は北海道で最も古い温泉です。

This is a popular hot spring resort that serves as the sightseeing center in Southern Hokkaido. With about 350 years of history, this hot spring area, which overlooks the Tsugaru Straits, is the oldest in Hokkaido.

Lake Mashu is one of the world’s most transparent lakes. In summer, dense fog occurs so frequently that there are few days when lake water are clearly visible. It is “mysterious lake” shrouded in fog.

網走刑務所
実際の刑務所が移転し、囚人の発達と歴史を展示するために改造されています。木造の刑務所は遠近法建築で放射線状に見えます。
Abashiri Prison Museum
A real jail was relocated and restored to exhibit the development and history of prison labor. The radial, wooden prison house is also a must-see from an architectural perspective.

日の出が日本一早く見られるのが納沙布岬です。国後島など北方領土を一望できる灯台も人気の観光名所です。

The sunrise is even earliest in Japan at Cape Nosappu. The lighthouse, which is also a tourist spot, commands a view to the Northern Territories, including Kunashiri Island.

Carpeting Takinoue Park is a colony of moss ping covering an expanse of 10,000 square meters. It pleases the eye of visitors from mid-May to mid-June.

Five Shiretoko Lakes, Shiretoko Town
There are walking trails surrounding these primitive lakes. The Shiretoko Mountain Range reflected on the lake surfaces and beautiful forest in each season are a must-see.

丹頂鶴
シベリヤから道東の釧路湿原にやってくる丹頂鶴は国の天然記念物に指定されています。鶴居村、釧路、根室その他の場所でみることが出来ます。
Obseration of Japanses Cranes
Japanese cranes, which are designated as a special natural monument by the notional government, fly from a Siberia to Eastern Hokkaido centering on Kushiro Marsh. They can be observed in Tsurui Village, Kushiro and Nemuro among other places.

道東の中心、釧路は日本最大の漁港です。旧釧路川にかかる幣舞橋の四季の像は有名です。
Nusamai Brige, Kushiro
Serving as the center of Eastern Hokkaido, Ku-shiro enjoys one of the nation’s largest catches. The Bronze Statue of Four Seasons on Nusamai Bridge over the Old Kushiro River is famous.

カムイワッカ湯の滝
知床の滝壺がそのまま湯船になった温泉です。川の中を３０分ほど歩くと滝壺が現れ、天然の露天風呂が楽しめます。

然別湖は原生林に覆われた海抜約８１０メートルのところにあります。湖には珍しい魚も生息しています。
Lake Shikaribetsu in Shikaoi Town
Lake Shikaribetsu is a natural lake that is located about 810 meters above sea level and surrounded by primeval forest. Dolly varden, a rare fish, inhabit the lake. You can come in contact with magnificent nature here.

冬、凍った然別湖つくられた露天風呂では白い蒸気が吹き出ます。これは厚い氷にバスタブをつくることによってできる温泉です。この温泉は冬のみ楽しめるものです。

大雪山国立公園にある旧士幌線の33のアーチのある橋は、一級の鉄道遺産として北海道文化遺産として選ばれている。
Concrete Bridges on Old Shihoro Line
Thirty-three arch bridges on the old Shihoro Line, located in Taisetsuzan national Park, were selected as a Hokkaido Heritage site for Class 1 Railway Heritage.
