多度大社
古来より北伊勢大神宮として崇拝されている。重量文化財を収蔵・展示する宝物殿や、芭蕉が参拝時に詠んだ句碑が建つ。上げ馬神事で有名。
Tado Shrine
There is a tresure house where important cultural properties are displayed within the site. There is also a stone tablet inscribed with a haiku poem written by Basho. The shrine is famous for the “Ageuma-Shinji” (Hourse Riding Ritual).

宇賀渓
鈴鹿国定公園の中で唯一滝めぐりができるエリア。御所滝、魚止滝、燕滝など数々の名瀑があり、渓谷を川沿いに登ると、砂山山頂にたどり着く。
Uga-kei　Canyon
Uga-kei Canyon is the only area where you can visit waterfalls within the Suzuka National Park. There are many famous waterfalls such as Gosho, Uodome, and Tsubame.

Nabana-no-Sato

六華苑
大正2年（1913年）に建てられた豪商諸戸清六宅で、鹿鳴館の設計者で有名な建築家が手がけた和洋折衷の建物。明治・大正期を代表する文化遺産で、池泉回遊式庭園がある。
Rokka-en
This was the house of a rich merchant, Motroto Seiroku and was built in 1913. The architect of this house designed the Rokumei-kan. The building features both Japanese and Western styles, and is an important cultural heritage.

御在所岳
鈴鹿山系の主峰で標高1,212mの山頂一帯は、野生動物や高山植物の宝庫。四季折々の大自然のパノラマが楽しめ、天気の良い日には富士山まで遠望できる。山麓に涌く湯の山温泉は1300年の歴史がある名湯。
Mt. Gozaisho-dake
Mt. Gozaisho-dake is 1,212 meters high and is the highest peak of Suzuka Mountains. The top of this mountain is a treasure house of wild animals and alpine flora. The splendid, natural panoramas change with the seasons. You can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. Yunoyama spa is at the foot of the mountain. This spa has 1,300 years of history and is quite famous.

Banko Pottery Center
The Banko Pottery Center houses a pottery studio where classes are held, and a display room that presents 260 years of Banko pottery history and techniques. Banko pottery is also sold at the center.

湯の山温泉
西暦718年、薬師如来のお告げにより発見されたと言われ、鹿が傷を治したという伝説から「鹿の湯」とも呼ばれています。
Yunoyama Onsen
Accounts say that the source was discovered in 718 AD after a divine revelation from Yakushi Nyorai, the Buddhist manifestation of healing. From a legend that the water healed a wounded deer, the spa is also known as Deer Spring.

椿大神社
鈴鹿山系の中央麓に鎮座する椿大神社は、伊勢国一の宮として猿田彦大神を祀る全国二千余社の総本宮。平安と幸福を招く「みちびきの祖神」と尊称されている。
Tsubaki Grand Shrine
Tsubaki Grand Shrine is located in the center of the base of Suzuka Cordillera. It is the main shrine of more than 2,000 shrines throughout the country which enshrine Sarutahiko no okami and is also the top shrine of the old Ise District. Sarutahiko no okami is called “The kami of Guidance” which means the kami or deity that brings people peace and happiness and prosperity.

世界有数のレーシングコースを持ちモータースポーツが盛ん。F1日本グランプリや8時間耐久ロードレースなどが開催される。隣接する遊園地には、天然温泉や宿泊施設も完備。
Suzuka Circuit
This “Mecca” of motor sports boasts an international racetrack. The Japan Formula One Grand Prix and Eight-hour Endurance Race are held here. There is an amusement park next to the circuit, and a natural spa and accommodation facilities within the park.

日本の道百選にも選ばれた、東海道五十三次の47番目の宿場町。格子や白壁の塗籠など江戸情緒を感じさせる町並みが保存され、往時の情景を色濃く残している。
Sekijuku
This is the 47th posting station of the 53 posting stations of the Tokaido Route. The town was selected as one of the One Hundred Scenic Roads of Japan. The latticework and white painted walls with the atmosphere of the Edo era are preserved.

国内生産の約5割を占める、ろうそく生産高日本一。アロマテラピーや虫よけ効果のあるものなど多種多様で、繊細な細工を施したアートキャンドルは世界に誇る芸術品。
Candles
Approximately 50% of Japan’s domestically produced candles come from Kameyama City. It is clearly the largest producer of candles in Japan.

伊勢形紙
細い彫刻刀で細かい文様や柄を和紙に彫り抜いたもので、友禅や浴衣などの生地の染色時に使用。突彫り、錐彫り、道具彫り、縞彫りの4種の技法がある。
Isekatagami
These intricate patterns are cut into Japanese Paper using a fine, bladed tool. They are used in Yuzen dyeing, or to dye cloth for making Yukata. There are four types of cutting techniques.

伊勢形紙資料館は、地元屈指の形紙問屋だった寺尾家の住宅です。伊勢形紙に関する資料や現代の形紙を展示しているほか、新作展や彫刻の実演も行われ、当時の商家の様子や形紙について、広く理解することができます。
Ise Paper Stencil Museum
The Stencil Museum is housed in the Terao Residence, the former home of a leading local wholesaler of paper stencils. Exhibits show every aspect of stencil making, and recent works are also on display. You can also see special showings of new works and demonstrations of stencil cutting. All in all, Vistors gain an insight into merchant life during a former age and acquire a broad understanding of the craft of stencil making.

鈴鹿市伝統産業会館
鈴鹿市の伝統産業である「伊勢形紙」と「鈴鹿墨」をより多くの方に紹介し、後世に伝えることを願って、誕生しました。展示室には、伊勢形紙と鈴鹿墨の作業道具や名匠の代表作が展示されているほか、墨の型入れ工程や形紙の彫刻の実演を見たり、形紙の体験彫りもできます。
Suzuka City Traditional Craft Hall
Conceived from a desire to leve behind for future generations the rich local heritage of ingenuity in traditional industries, the Craft Hall presents paper stencils and Suzuka ink. In addition to the tools used to make these products, the exhibition hall features a selection of famous works that showcase the finest of loal skills. As well as witnessing the process of molding ink into blocks and seeing stencil cutters at work, visitors can also try their own hand at stencil cutting.

Senjuji Temple
Senjuji Temple is the major temple of the Takada-ha branch of the Jodoshin-shu sect. The temple houses many National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties such as buildings (Mikage-do Hall and Nyorai-do Hall) and documents written by Shinran.

榊原温泉
清少納言の「枕草子」にも「湯は七栗の湯」と謳われたほどの名湯。有馬、玉造と並ぶ日本三名泉のひとつで美人の湯としても名高い。
Sakakibara Spa
A female writer of the Heian era, Sei Shonagon, praised this spa (called Nanakuri at that time) in her famous essay, Makura no Soshi. This spa is one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan (the others are Arima and Tamatsukuri). It is also famous for being a “beauty bath”.

潮干狩り

Collecting Shellfish
The shallow beaches of the calm Ise Bay provide many good spots for collecting shellfish. Short-necked clam, razor clam and other shellfish are harvested from spring to early summer.

Matsuura Takeshiro Commemorative Center
Matsusaka City is the birthplace of Matuura Takeshiro, an explorer of the Edo era who named Hokkaido. His belongings, materials related to him and his exploration, and his books tell us of his achievements and his many talents.

斎宮跡・斎宮歴史博物館
飛鳥〜鎌倉時代のものとみられる出土品の数々が発見された国史跡指定の斎宮跡。博物館では、出土品、調度品をはじめ、模型や映像を駆使し、当時の斎宮の様子を再現している。
Historical Park “Ruins of Saio Princess Palace” / Saiku Historical Museum
Various artifacts form the period beginning with the Asuka era and ending with the Kamakura era have been excavated from these ruins. The ruins are designated as National Historical Ruins. In the museum, the original Saiku is reproduced by exhibiting the models and visual materials.

松阪城跡／御城番屋敷
城を守るために派遣された旧紀州藩士たちの住居として建てられた長屋。松阪城跡の裏門から続く石畳の道を挟んで武家屋敷が並び、そのうち1件が一般公開されている。
Matsusaka Castle Ruins / Gojoban Yashiki
These quarters were built for the samurai who protected the Matsusaka Castle in the Kishu domain. Many samurai houses line both sides of the stone-paved road that starts at the back gate of the Matsusaka Castle Ruins. One of these houses is open to the public.

江戸時代の豪商、小津清左衛門の旧家を改修して公開している。20余りの部屋がある母屋や土蔵、庭園などから、当時の商人の暮らしぶりがうかがえる。
Matsusaka Merchant House
Once the house of a wealthy merchant in the Edo era, Ozu Kiyozaemon, the house was renovated and opened to the public. The main building, with more than 20 rooms, the warehouse and garden reveal the lifestyle of merchants of that time.

Aoyama Plateau
Aoyama Plateau is 600〜700 meters above sea level. You can enjoy the changing coloers and spectacular scenic views. It is famous for the azaleas and Akebia that grow here.

In Mie Prefecture the are around Hisai is a leading area specialized in growing Japanese pears. The fruit prduced here is noted for its fine flavor. You can eat as many of the Kosui and Hosui varieties as you like. (Period:17 Aug. to 20 Sep.)

伊勢国司の祖・北畠顕能をはじめ、三卿を祀る神社。境内の一角にある室町時代に作庭されたとされる庭は、米字型の池と苔むした築山が見事に調和している。
Kitabatake Shrine and Kitabatake House Garden
Kitabatake Shrine pays homege to Kitabatake Akiyoshi, the founder of the Ise government, and it also pays homage to the three families. The shrine features a garden set in the Muromachi-style in which an 8-pointed star-shaped pond and mossy mounds are in beautiful harmony.

Oku-kahada Gorge
Oku-kahada Gorge is in the Murou-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park. It is located upstream of the Kushida River. The diverse natural scenery that is created by the huge rocks, strange rock formations, primeval forests and waterfalls has a wondrous and mystical quality.

Osugi-dani Canyon and Odaigahara
The steep V-shaped canyon has many famous waterfalls and mountain streams. There are the habitat of wild birds and rare flora. Osugi-dani Canyon is within the Yoshino-Kumano National Park.

Matsusaka Beef

Meotoiwa
Meotoiwa (wedded-rocks) tied with a thick, sacred, straw rope symbolize marriage. The sun appears to rise from between the two rocks around the summer solstice.

得意のアッカンベーでおなじみのミナミゾウアザラシのほか、トド、セイウチ、イルカなどの海獣をはじめ、淡水魚、熱帯魚など350種類、4000点以上の動物を見ることができます。アシカやセイウチのショーは毎日行われ、動物たちに直接触れたり、記念撮影ができます。
Futami Sea Paradise
Including freshwater and tropical fish,Sea Paradise is home to 350 species of aquatic animal. Among the more than 4,000 specimens are mammals sucha as the southern elephant seal, which is well known for the making faces, as wells as sea lions, walruses, and dolphins. There is a daily sea-loin and walrus show, and you can even actually touch the animals and take souvenir photos.

Ise Grand Shrine
This shrine has been known as “O-Ise-san” since ancient times. It is still popular and many people visit throughout the year. Many of the traditional rituals are still carried out. For example, “Sengu” (installing the sacred symbol of a deity in a new shrine) is held every 20 years.

Geku Kaguraden
The Outer Shrine(geku) is dedicated to Toyouke, the deity of grain crops. Pilgrims come to pay their respects to the protector of plenty who assures the security of clothing, food, a place to live, and overall industry. The Ritual Stage was renovated in December 2000 and provides a stately space for the performance of sacred music and other offerings to the gods.

内宮の祭神は、天照大御神。正殿は、日本最古の建築様式である唯一神明造で建てられています。内宮前のおはらい町・おかげ横丁では、地元の銘菓、郷土料理が味わえるほか、伝統工芸品、農海産物など県内のお土産が揃っています。
Oharai-machi, Okage Yokocho
The Inner Srine(naiku) is dedicated to Amaterasu, the supreme goddess. Simply designed, the goshoden, or inner sanctum, is built using Japan’smost ancient architectural techniques in an unique style called Yuitsushinmei-zukuri. On the way to the shrine, the shops of Oharai-machi and Okage Lane offer delicacies including sweets and loal cuisine and, in the form of souvenirs such as handicrafts and special agricultural produce, just about any other of the traditional products made within the prefecture.

Mikimoto Pearl Island
Mikimoto Kokichi is known as the “King of Pearls”. He was the first person ever to successfully culture pearls, which he didi at Mikimoto Pearl Island. You can see women dive fot pearl oysters, various pearl arts, materials of pearl culturing and the history of pearl culturing.

鳥羽水族館
環境やテーマごとに分けられた11のゾーンでは、おなじみのラッコやイルカをはじめ、アフリカナマティーやジュゴンなど約850種2万点の海の生物を飼育展示しています。プランクトンなどの微生物を顕微鏡や特殊カメラを使って観察できるマイクロアクアリウムもあります。
Toba Aquarium
In eleven zones that are divided into environmental and other themes, visitors can see 850 species, many of which are bred at the aquarium. The 20,000 specimens on display include mammals subh as the well-known sea otter, dolphins, African manatee, and dugong. In the Micro-aquarium, microscopes and special cameras allow observation of plankton and other tiny marin life.

Toba Bay cruise & dolphin Island
This excursion course includes sights in Toba Bay that are thought locally to establish Shima’s claim to rival the famed Japanese scenic spot of Matsushima. During the tour a stop is made at the Island (Irukato) to see dolphin and sea-lion shows. Depending on the season, it is also possible to go swimming in the sea.

伊勢志摩スカイライン
朝熊山を縦走する全長16.3kmの快適ドライブコース。山頂からは眼下に伊勢湾やリアス式海岸線などの雄大なパノラマを望み、よく晴れた日には富士山も見渡せます。また、山頂には、伊勢神宮の鬼門を守る寺として、金剛證寺があります。
Ise-Shima Skyline
This pleasant parkway traverses Mt. Asakuma over a total length of 16.3 km. The peak affords a majestic panoramic view of Ise Bay and the jagged coastline, and on clear days you can even see Mt. Fuji. Kongoshoji Temple, which guards the Kimon(demon’s gate) entrance to Ise Shrine, is also located at the peak.

たまり醤油の黒い濃厚なタレと、ずんぐりした太くて柔らかいうどんでできています。タレは底に少しあるだけで、ネキや一味をのせ、かきまぜて食べます。
Ise-Udon
The soup is based on rich, dark tamari soy sauce and the noodles are short, thick, and soft. Just a little of this sauce is put in the bottom of the bowl before the broth is added. The soup is served with a splinkling of chopped spring onions and red peeper.

Pearl Road
After repeated upheaval and submersion, in the Toba-Shima area the sea has occupied what used to be river valleys. This has left the magnificent ria shoreline that you can see today. From the Toba Observatory on Pearl Road you will enjoy panoramic views of the vast blue sea spreading out beyond green hills and the shining white ria shoreline.

This museum features the history of the long relationship between “people and the sea”. There are more than 50,000 exhibits, such as daily tools or real fishing equipment and tools. There is also a cultural property storehouse for wooden ships. The museum exhibits the culture of Shima and the sea.

Spiny Lobsters (Ise-ebi) and Nambari Meron
Hamajima is the only locale in Iseshima where fishing nets are still reeled in by hand. Unlike with machine-reeled nets, this allows spiny lobsters to be caught without damaging them, thereby ensuring a higher price. Muskmelons are also a special product of this region.

Anorizaki Lighthouse Visitor Center
Located next to the Anorizaki Lighthouse, the museum has exhibits that explain the history of the lighthouse and provide information about other lighthouses all over Japan. Visitors can also see a one-third scale model of a previous octagonal wooden lighthouse built by Branton, a British engineer.

Shima Marin-land
This aquarium was designed to present the unique outward apperance of an ammonite. At the entrance, a cute penguin welcomes visitors. As well as an Ancient Seas Aquarium that presents both living fossils and fossils of extinct sea creatures, another feature is a large tank for free-swimming fish that accommodates schools of 50 species, for 2,000 specimens in all. Local ama divers can also be seen feeding the fish.

Tanemaki Gonbei no Sato
This historic site was the home of Gonbei, the farmer who is featured in the words of a famous folk song: “Soon after Gonbei sows seeds, crows dig them up”. A number of goods that features the farmers’ life such as his matchlock-gun and “Zunbera” stones are displayed in Gonbei’s house.

Doi Bamboo Grove
Ｔｈｅｒｅ are thousands of lush and vigorously growing bamboo plants in this forest. It is said that this grove was created by Hachirobei Doi, a very wealthy man from Owase. He transplanted bamboo plants from the Satsuma region (current-day Kyushu). When viewed from the tunnel that is on the way to the bamboo grove, the scenery of the bamboo grove is quite mystical.

熊野古道
平安から江戸時代にかけて、熊野本宮・速玉大社・那智大社の熊野三山をめさず参詣者が歩いた巡礼の道。伊勢と熊野、２つの聖地を結ぶ苔むした石畳の道が今に残る。
Kumano Old Road
Pilgrims passed along this road during the Heian era and until the end of Edo era. Many people used this road to visit the Kumano Sanzan (the three shrines of Kumano). The three shrines are Kumano Hongu, Hayatama Taisha and Nachi Taisha. The mossy stone-paved road still connects two sacred places, Ise and Kumano.

Oniga-jo
Erosion caused by wind from the sea and massive earthquakes over the aeons have created a magnificent scene of massive, irregulary shaped rocks. According to legend, it is the site where Sakanoue no Tamuramaro beat the much feared Tagamaru pirates that were thought to be demons.

花の窟神社
日本書紀にも登場する日本最古の祭礼遺跡。ご神体は高さ45mの巨岩で、祭神はイザナミノミコト。年に2回、岩に懸かった注連縄を張り替える「お網かけ神事」が行われる。
Hana-no-Iwaya Shrine
Hana-no-Iwaya Shrine is Japan’s oldest religious festival remains. It appears in Nihon Shoki (Chronicles of Japan), the oldest document in Japan. The gigantic rock in this shrine is 45 meters tall. It is worshipped along with the gods Izanami-no-Mikoto. In the “Otsunakake Shinji” (Rope Changing Ritual), the sacred straw rope that hangs from the rock is changed. This ritual is conducted here twice a year.

Tategasaki
The columnar jointing of the cliffs stretching 100 meters toward the skies, and the ocean’s blue expanse produce a beautiful contrast. Senjojiki is an excellent site from which to view the scenery. It is said that Emperor Jinmu landed here on his way to his conquest in the East.

Maruyama Senmaida Paddy Field
Maruyama Senmaida Paddy Field offers a view that is typical of mountain paddy fields – many small paddies on terraced slopes. As the entire town has worked to preserve these fields, they are some of the most superbly maintained senmaida (thousand rice fields) in Japan.

Michi-no-Eki “Kiho-cho Umigame-koen”

Haiseiden
The design of this building in Ueno Park is based on the figure of the poet, Matsuo Basho, as he traveled . In his years, travelers used to wear short kimonos and conic straw hats. Various items relating to Matsuo Basho, including a life-sized statue made from Iga ware, are displayed inside the building.

Koachi-dani Canyon
The magnificent Kaochi-dani Canyon was formed by the volcanic activity of the Murou Volcanic Mountains. Cliffs and strangely shaped rocks form 8 km of natural and beautiful landscape that can be seen along the Shorenji River. The new, green growth of summer and the colored maple leaves of autumn make the canyon particulary scenic at these times.

名張藤堂家邸跡
寛永13年（1636年）に建てられた名張藤堂藩・初代藩主、藤堂高吉の邸宅跡。中奥と桃山式枯山水庭園のみが現存し、秀吉の朱印状など貴重品を展示している藩主の私室が公開されている。
The Ruins of the Nabari Todo Family’s House
These ruins are the house of Todo Takayoshi, the first lord of the Nabari Todo domain. The house was built in 1636. Only the master’s residence and the Momoyama-style, karesansui garden, have survived. Various historically valuable materials, such as an official letter with a red ink seal issued by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, are displayed.

Iga Braid
“Iga braid is from the Iga-Ueno region. The origins of this art form are older than the Nara era. Iga-Ueno currently produces more braid than any other region in Japan. The beautifully colored Iga brains, especially obijime and haorihimo, are very popular throughout Japan.
An obijime is a cord tied over the sash (obi) that is worn within a kimono.
A haorihimo is a short cord for doing up a half-length coat (haori).”
